What is under-eye Botox?
The orbicularis oculi muscle surrounds the eye. Its outer part creates crow's feet, and its lower part can bunch the thin skin under the eye into fine lines or a small roll when you smile. Under-eye Botox places very small amounts of toxin into this lower section to relax it slightly and smooth these lines.
Because the skin here is thin and the muscle also supports the lower eyelid, doses are much lower than elsewhere and careful assessment matters. It is often done together with crow's feet Botox. Dark circles, puffiness and hollow tear troughs are not caused by this muscle, so the doctor may suggest tear trough fillers, skin boosters or other dark circle treatments instead.
