What is gummy smile Botox?
A gummy smile is when a broad band of gum shows above the upper teeth as you smile. It can have several causes, including the shape of the jaw, short teeth or gums covering the teeth, and a hyperactive upper lip. When the main cause is muscles that pull the upper lip too high, Botox can help.
The doctor places very small amounts of botulinum toxin near the sides of the nose, into the muscles that elevate the upper lip.
